After 22 more sleeps, we'll be jetting off to London. I'm doing a practice post to fix any hiccups with this blog before hand. Here is a pic of Will-I-Am and Dill-I-Am to get the ball rolling. I now need to
see if I can get the text to wrap around the pic. Yes, that seems to have worked.
What should I chat about next? The NSW election result? Goodish result for the Greens. Not sure why anyone still votes for the National Party these days. Bunch of hayseeds.
Can't think of anything else to whitter on about here so 'this space is intentionally left blank'.
Oh look! I can actually put text here as well! Another pic then:
This is my great grandmother, Annie Julian (nee Hughes) born in Newcastle NSW in the 1870s. We visited some of her ancestral digs in Wiltshire when we were there in 2013. Her outfit, which I'm sure is a uniform, looks horribly uncomfortable. And such a fetching hat.
That will do for now. Till 21 April! xx

ReplyDeleteAhoy there. I am really looking forward to reading your blog while you are on your travels. Cheers Deborah (aka Orianasoprano)
ReplyDeleteI just found out how to edit my profile name. It insisted that I must have a first name and a last name, hence my user name now appears twice!
ReplyDeleteIt's a top name - happy to see it twice. Although with a moniker like that, others may think you are Tony Soprano's niece rather than a classical singer of some renown!
ReplyDeleteI decided to simplify the name to avoid the duplication. I have never heard of Tony Soprano!!
ReplyDeleteI clicked on the comments link. I then clicked on the 'Reply' link. A comments box appears with a 'Comment as:' drop down menu. In my case the only option was 'Google Account'. I clicked on the 'Publish' button and a Google Sign On window appears. After entering email address and password, it returns to the 'Comments' box where it says 'Comment As' and my name 'Bob Thomson' shows in the window. When published, my name and date of comment becomes the heading for the comment. SO you need a Google account and password to write a Reply/Comment.... Clear as mud??
ReplyDeleteAnne, didn't our grandmother take a trip on the P&O Oriana? Is Oriana following you? What filth was in the deleted replies?
ReplyDelete1. She did, Cousin Bob! 2. Oriana Soprano (who is apparently unaware of her mobster connections) will be keeping a close eye on my blog from continental Europe, where she will be cavorting at much the same time. 3. The 'blog administrator' who deleted the two comments was a strange visitor from another planet. Me. I was using an alias to see if I could comment from another g-mail account, given Oriana's (now resolved) difficulties. I assumed both comments would disappear entirely but alas, it now looks like I have said something unsavoury that a moderator has found distasteful. Let that be a lesson to me. A xx
DeleteHi Bob and Anne. You two are hilarious!!
ReplyDeleteI made up the name Orianasoprano because I sing with a choir called Oriana Chorale, and I am a soprano! I use Orianasoprano for various things. It is very handy!! Cheers
Have the most wonderful trip! I can't wait to read your blog. Your comments are always so entertaining!
